Serving the Willamette Valley of Oregon

Welcome to

"Willamette Valley Association"

of Southern Baptist Churches!

Hello! I am Bill Phillips. That photos shows me driving.  I do a lot of driving.  I serve as Association Mission Strategist for the Willamette Valley Baptist Association. My responsibilities require a lot of driving...and I don't mind it at all. Read more to understand why!

The area of the "WVBA" is in the Willamette Valley of West Central Oregon. Often called the "Interstate 5 Corridor," our specific area of responsibility starts south of Portland, Oregon (on the North) to Drain (Douglas County in the South) between the Coastal Range of mountains on the West and the Cascade Range on the East. Honestly, this is one of the most picturesque areas of Oregon. It is a valley that produces hazelnuts and is even called that "grass seed capital of the US." Words do not give adequate tribute to this lovely area.  You must come visit us!

Our churches choose to cooperate with the Association, the Northwest Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. We work together to accomplish cooperatively what no one church could ever do independently. Each church is autonomous, but we choose to work as a team on projects, events, and mission ministries.  Our realationship is described as "a rope of sand with the strength of steel."

Spend a few minutes on our site to read about our churches. Write and ask questions. Some of our churches have web sites. All of our churches have e-mail.  We have ministries on campuses of all major university, college and junior colleges in the Willamette Valley and set up a special page describing their ministries and how you can contact each Director. We endeavor to respond to your questions as soon as possible.
We added some helpful links that may interest you.  Check our current news, the calendar, the Prayer Partners, or go to a LifeWay site where you can find dynamic new books or literature.  There are links to Sunday School teacher helps and Baptist Press.

We want our site to be current.  If you notice something out of date, just click on "Contact Us" and let us know.

Securely held "In HIS grip,"

Bill Phillips, Association Mission Strategist
